TYPE 2 DIABETES

Type 2 diabetes is a serious chronic condition which less to increased levels of sugar (more accurately known as glucose) in the blood. The high blood glucose levels occur due to the failure of the body to move glucose from the blood into the cells so it can be used for energy. Insulin is a hormones produced by the pancreas, and this hormones acts like a key to help unlock the cell for glucose to move inside. For people with diabetes, the pancreas either does not produce enough insulin, or more often, the insulin does not work properly. High levels of glucose in the blood for extended periods can lead to many complications, so good control of blood glucose levels is very important in managing diabetes.

Risks factors for type 2 diabetes
Overweight or obesity
First degree relative with type 2 diabetes
History of gestational diabetics (women only)
High blood pressure
High blood cholesterol
Sedentary lifestyle

Symptoms:
An usual thirst
A frequent desire to urinate
Blurred vision
Feeling of being tired most of time for no apparent reason
Constant hunger
Sores that is slow to heal
Fruity odor to breath

Complications:
Heart disease
Blindness
Nerve damage
Kidney damage
Hyperlipidemia
Hypertension

Managing:
Diabetes can be managed with a healthy diet, or with a combination of a healthy diet and medication. Some people may need to inject insulin if they have had diabetes for a long time. By following a healthy lifestyle people with diabetes can live long healthy lives, here are some suggestions:
If you are overweight, aim to move closure to your healthy weight range
Plan to eat meals at regular intervals of small portions over the day. Make sure you have some carbohydrates foods in every meals Eat a wide variety of foods each day. Choose low fat foods that are high in fiber such as vegetables, grains and beans. Be active! Regular exercise is especially important for people with diabetics.it helps with blood sugar controls, weight loss and high blood pressure people with diabetics who exercise are less likely to experience a heart attack or stroke than those who do not exercise regularly.


Recently I came cross the exciting news that scientists in India have discovered new insulin which need to be taken once in the month.Glad to hear and its big relief for all the diabetic patience out there.... please do check on it...
